Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) provides an inexpensive and effective means of resolving consumer, trader and tenancy disputes and is capable of making enforceable orders.
VCAT was created on 1 July 1998 and took over the roles of the former Small Claims and Residential Tenancies Tribunal.
VCAT deals with issues such as:
- the purchase or repair of new or used motor vehicles
- rental bond and other residential tenancy issues
- goods and services such as electrical appliances, travel and Real Estate Agents
- finance and credit matters
- rent increases
